2 days – 1 night

Experience Cagayan’s multi-faceted tourism products – from its vast natural wonders to its unique cultural offerings. Choose from the many caves for a day of caving adventure at the Peñablanca Protected Landscape and Seascape (PPLS) while enjoying the pristine Pinacanauan River and daily circadian flight of millions of bats at dusk. Learn about the religious history of the Cagayanos by visiting the Piat Basilica Minore, Iguig Calvary Hills and the Cagayan Provincial Museum and Historical Research Center.
Day 1
Meet with guides at the bus station; proceed to hotel of choice; check-in. Breakfast of local Pancit Batil Patung before proceeding to Callao Caves Tourist Zone, Peñablanca, Cagayan. Explore Roc Cave or Sierra Cave  and Callao Cave; take lunch by the river bank; river trailing, swimming and boating, watch the bats at dusk while having barbecue by the riverbank of Pinacanauan River. Motor back to hotel.
Day 2
Early drive to Piat Basilica Minore for pilgrimage visit; take your picture at the Buntun Bridge – the longest river bridge in the country spanning the longest and widest river in the country – the Cagayan River. In the afternoon visit the Cagayan Provincial Museum and Historical Research Center and the Iguig Calvary Hills; shop for souvenirs and pasalubong; take the night bus back to Manila.
For extended stay, visit Sta.Ana, Blue Waters of Baggao or Calayan Islands.

Take a Calesa ride or your own vehicle to visit the Horno Ruins at Barangay Bagumbayan where ruins of brick kilns built during the Spanish times still stand. The Hornos provided baked bricks for the St. Peter Cathedral, the St. Hyacinth Church and other churches around Tuguegarao City during the Spanish occupation. Visit also the elevated St. Hyacinth Church built in 1606 and the seat of Archdiocese of Tuguegarao, the Cathedral (1761) and the nearby convent ruins and the Bolo Making Industry at Barangay Larion Bajo . Motor to Buntun Bridge – the longest river bridge in the country, spanning the longest and the widest river, the Cagayan River. The Cagayan Provincial Museum and Historical Research Center provide ample information about the local culture and its past.
Tuguegarao City serves as the service center for Peñablanca, Piat and other nearby towns. It is the regional center of the Cagayan Valley Region. DOT accredited establishment are available. Air Philippines and Cebu Pacific fly to Tuguegarao City Airport.


There are some 10 bus companies plying the Manila -Tuguegarao route via the Maharlika Highway with daily trips. Take the evening trip from Manila. For independent motorists, take the North Luzon Expressway and exit at the Sta. Rita exit. Air Philippines and Cebu Pacific fly to Tuguegarao daily.
